Your editor has learned to know Ian Gordon very well over the past few years. He is an economic historian and gold-oriented stockbroker who works for Canaccord Capital in Vancouver. As a lover of history, Ian studied Nicholai Kondratieff, the great Russian economist who was sent to prison by Stalin when he told Stalin that the cycles of capitalism cause problems but that capitalism will always survive those problems. Believing Kondratieff was on to something for our current age, Ian set out to have real economic data test the 60- to 70-year-long cycles that Kondratieff observed.
